Greetings from Dr. O (Israel Olaore) to the Glendale Adventist Academy community.

Meet the Zoreks! Audrey (New Home & School President), Elaine, Laryssa (GAA Class of 2019), and Lenessa (GAE 6th Grader) are a fun bunch within our community! Some fun facts about them are they are Brazilian, enjoy getting involved in our community with church and school, and they all like doing crafts and DIYs. When we asked them where there happy place is, they said, Our happy place is when we are all camping together in Big Bear. It's an activity we have always enjoyed to do as a family. #communityhighlight

Throughout Fall Fest, there are activities for all ages! From the Home and School’s scavenger hunt to the Music Department’s game station, the fun is endless! After you win and claim your prizes, you can make your way over to the spinning art station. While you are in line, you may receive a kiss from a Student Association officer. These games are perfect to make new memories all night!

Always remember the power the Lord gives you throughout your day. His presence is great and can get you through any darkness you may be facing. Whatever path you may be on, failure you may encounter, and struggle you are currently having you will rise and make it through with God by your side. Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light Micah 7:8.

Meet Greg Gullien! He is an alumnus of the Class of 2015! When asked where or what is his happy place, he responded with being able to be in a space with friends, family, or loved one while serving those in need. During my time in nursing school I was able to do two mission trips, one in Cuba and another in Brazil. We were there to assist in medical needs in local villages and churches. Experiences like such have really shaped me into a person and I’m blessed I was able to have that journey and help others. A fun fact about Greg is that he recently just graduated from Loma Linda School of Nursing, and passed his NCLEX!

At Fall Festival there is a variety of food, drinks, and treats to choose from. Multiple food trucks come and serve different types of food that accommodate all appetites. Additionally, there are tables all around second terrace that serve food. The chili station and the potato tacos are a couple of the most popular food items! If you have a sweet tooth, there is a variety of choices a sweet lover can choose from. From cotton candy, cupcakes, cookies, to ice cream, there is something for the entire family. We can’t wait until we can have fall festival again!

Above all, always choose love in everything that you do. Keep it in mind throughout your decision making and be intentional about it with all of your actions. Love has the power to heal, fix, and motivate you to do great things. Let all that you do be done in love 1 Corinthians 16:14.

Meet Yennelis Cuyuch! She recently just finished 8th grade in our junior high, and is currently in her freshmen year at GAA. When asked what her happy place is, she responded with my happy place is anywhere outdoors seeing Gods nature especially with my family and friends. I enjoy being able to relax and distract myself from school, or any other things i’ve been doing during the week. One fun fact about herself is that she enjoys playing video games in her free time! #studenthighlight

Fall Festival is an annual event that is put on by the Home and School Association that is the highlight of the year for many. During this event there are food trucks, dessert stands, games, a photo booth, and sometimes even a petting zoo! This event allows teachers, faculty, kids, and parents to enjoy a night out all together outside of the classroom. It is a time that many look forward to and a fun way to disconnect!

The passion for unity in times of uncertainty is what bonds us with others and with Christ. Seeking this bond, we find peace in God, within ourselves, and within our neighbors. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace." Ephesians 4:3 NLT

Meet Mrs. Norie Grace Rivera Lorentz! Mrs. Lorentz is 51 (52 in a few days!) and a math teacher here at GAA! She has been teaching at GAA for 16 years, loves teaching math to young people because it makes her feel young and happy, and enjoys to cook! When we asked her where her happy place is, she said, My happy place is anywhere my family is. If they are happy, I am happy too. If people around me are happy, I am happy too. I feel fullfilled when I see my students successful in their careers. I’m happy when I share God's love to them through math. I always tell my students that math is everywherewhat ever they do there is math. Just by waking up and looking at the time, there is math.

Our choir department really challenges kids to reach their highest level of potential with the upmost support from their leaders. The coordinators work very hard to find music that is entertaining, but also difficult. This program is something a lot of students look forward to, and a way to use the talents that God have them. Faculty, staff, parents, and so many others look forward to concerts where the students get to display all of their hard work and efforts.
