UCGSA has been working with the City of Union City, NHUSD, & USA Softball to ensure that we can get our girls safely back on the diamond.... Included below is the model we plan on following for the 2021 season. We plan to start on May 1 and run to June 13th. We have lowered our price to $25 to account for the abrupt end to our 2020 season. Additionally, we are looking for coaches and parent volunteers in all divisions to help our girls and league succeed. Please view the attached documents for more information. Greetings UCGSA Families, We hope you and your families are doing well. With the promise of re-openings in California, Union City Girls Softball Association plans to have a spring season! USA softball has released Return-to-Play guidelines and our girls can return to the diamond under specific protocols. ... To prepare for re-opening, we would like for interested families to fill out our Pre-Registration Interest Form. Payment/Fees have not been determined and are NOT due at this time. So far the plan is to run a 5 week Conditioning Program to prepare for regular game play. Under this plan, our girls can participate in socially distanced conditioning and softball drills adhering to the strictest safety guidelines recommended by the County Health Director. So if you are interested in playing this season, please register through our Interest Form to be placed on the waitlist and to receive updated communications as information becomes available. Hello All!! Unfortunately we will be CANCELLING our fireworks booth this year. Prior to information getting out about us having a booth this year, the board never approved any paperwork. We were not planning to host a booth this year as COVID-19 regulations would have limited our volunteer staffing and procedures. I spoke with the Fireworks Representative to receive more information on this matter prior to making the decision but had not received any follow up because someone... else had signed for the booth, permit and license without the league's permission. They made these decisions with their "board" according to correspondents that I later received. I did not know that until a recent Facebook post had been sent out. As I have stated before, we have always made transparency a goal and will continue to do so. Upon hearing about the fireworks booth that was scheduled for this week, I made some phone calls to find out who had approved all of the legal and financial paperwork since I had not. I then received signed paperwork that had my name on it and a signature that was not mine or anyone on our board on behalf of the league. We then were able to change the fireworks logistics to my name. After completing that, I received ALL of the paperwork that was filled out on my behalf and found that the information used had a DISSOLVED status since 2014. After finding that it was too late to change that information on our permits and our account, the board decided to cancel the booth rather than use Fraudulent information that could severely hurt the league in the long run. Here are some information regarding our cancelled fireworks booth: 1. Our league does not have a booth this year 2. The City of Union City will NOT revoke any privileges and have given all organizations this year to opt. out due to the new COVID regulations. 3. The League is still tracing financial documents in order to see what our profit margin was In order to better prepare for next year. Hello Union City Girls Softball Families, I want to start by thanking you all for your patience during this global pandemic. With information going back and forth between state and county, we were unable to get clear guidelines for the future. Our league was very excited for our 2020 season as Opening Day was a Real Hit! After now receiving more information about local guidelines, I regret to inform you all thank this season has been Cancelled due to COVID-19. With field rese...rvations cancelled and updated social distancing guidelines, we are not able to host the rest of this season. Along with other local leagues, we are forced to end our season begin to prepare for next season. I promised to remain transparent on all ends and will continue to do so. Since our league and new board came in with a fund deficit, we currently do not have the funds to give refunds for the season. We are still responsible for field and facility usage (what we used up until the quarantine), equipment repairs and operations & logistics. Through future fundraising and donations, we will be able to offer a $30 credit to those who will be coming back next season. Aside from that, we will not be issuing refunds. Our goal was to use all funds on the players and successfully did so through our start up fees, field maintenance, invoices from last season, customized jerseys and opening day event. However, I am excited to announce that we will be hosting a Fireworks Booth this season and will use all revenue generated to better our league and provide more services to our community next season. For those of you who are interested in volunteering for multiple shifts, we will offer a 50% off registration discount for next season! Our booth will be located in El Mercado Center on Decoto Rd. between Burger King & Mongolian Hot Pot. Hi All, Thank you for all being patient. I know that many of us are all still navigating this quarantine and shelter-in-place. As of today we received notice that the new advisory is to shelter until May 3rd. We are doing our best to prepare and work with the other leagues on moving out our season end date to still get our games in. ... At this time, i recommend staying active and finding activities you can do in order to keep your health and wellness high. There are many useful and helpful videos on YouTube on softball specific and even fitness specific tools. I am currently working with your coaches and managers on some videos/activities of our own to get out to you. I hope you are all doing well. Let’s stay connected, stay positive and STAY HOME!!
