Wow.... what a night!!! . @dance_teacher_ashley we pulled it off. Thanks for inviting us on the insane journey to create an amazing memory for the 2021 seniors! Olivia with the initial idea and being such a sweet girl!! . It was not possible without the amazing volunteers, vendors and friends who stepped up to help!! ... . Soooo many people to thank, we appreciate you all so much! . To the seniors... thank you for enjoying the night, being respectful, polite and classy. . Starting off 2020 just after moving to our new huge space several parties on the booksI was ready to take on the year!! Who could have predicted where we would be just a few months later. CLOSED???? What? No gatherings?? Husband was not working, the kids were home 24/7 trying to do school. How was I going to do this? As most of you know, I don’t like to show any vulnerability I will suffer in private, and put on a smile and figure out a way to get through it. We ha...d just moved locations, any extra $$ went into Tennant Improvementswe already had a business loan to make the move happen, as we had BIG PLANS for this huge new space!!! All of the grants and loans out there were not designed to help the small business’. It was then I realized I needed to use the strength from within to make things happen because it wasn’t coming from the government or bill collectors. I would have weekly calls with Shane from Impact Sports Center as his business was the most similar to ours. What do we do? How do we navigate this? We don’t sell tangible items we provide a safe, clean place for kids and families to gather and celebrate. I spent many sleepless nights and several hours trying to creatively bring in money to just pay the billsand retain our amazing supervisor Destany and not close my dream business. So we did pizza kits, mobile dance party, balloon arch decor, virtual bingo, art kits, play camps and walk thru events. However, we would not be here starting 2021 without our amazing customers and community. So THANK YOU does not begin to express my gratitude. Your kind words, your shares on social media and your purchases all helped get us through this year. I know 2021 we are not out of the woods yet, (at work and at home) it’s going to be another tough year, but I am very hopeful for the future of The Bug and the Powell Family! We are taking this week Jan 4 - 8 off to relax, recoup and reinvent some ideas for the new year. We will start up our play camps again on Tues. Jan 12.
