Gimlen Orthodontics- COVID-19 update With the rapidly changing conditions of the COVID-19 virus, Gimlen Orthodontics number one priority it to keep our patients and team safe. Our office will be open, with normal office hours, but there will some changes to our normal protocol to ensure social distancing. Office sterilization:... Our offices have ALWAYS been cleaned and disinfected in the morning, evening and between every single patient. We follow strict OSHA guidelines in regards to dental infection control, including dry heat sterilization, autoclaving, personal protective equipment, and high level disinfectants on all surfaces. We ensure that Gimlen Orthodontics leads the profession in regards to infection control. Patient care in Manhattan Beach only: We will be seeing all patients in our Manhattan Beach office until further notice, due the fact it is a much larger space and we have multiple areas to ensure we keep all patient 6-10 feet apart. Gimlen Orthodontics team: Our team is up to date with all CDC and OSHA recommendations. We are taking a the temperature of the team before work and a lunchtime to ensure their health. Extra family members: As a temporary measure we ask you to drop your children off on Elm and Manhattan beach blvd. We will have an assistant taking temperatures with a temporal scanner in the entry to our office. If a patient has a temperature we will recommend they are rescheduled. We will text you when your child is ready to be picked up. They will be attended to at all times. If you chose to accompany your child at their appointment, we ask that only one family member can enter and their temperature will be taken. Waiting room: We have removed the complimentary coffee, water, magazines and toys for the time being as a precaution. Toothbrushing station: We will be closing our toothbrushing station. Please brush before you come to the office. We will be asking all patients to wash their hands and rinse with listerine for 30 seconds before they are seen. Patient care: We understand this is an uncertain time and we completely understand wanting to reschedule appointments. Dr Gimlen will be available to see patients as scheduled. If you chose to reschedule and you are in Invisalign we can provide you with additional aligners and Dr Gimlen can remotely monitor your progress. We will have designated pick up times at each location for aligner pick up. If you are wearing rubber bands and are running low please call our office and we can send you more.
