Gilliland CM is proud to announce the addition of Kelly Zuniga to our team! Kelly has received a degree in Construction Management and has 8 years of experience in the construction industry. Most recently, Kelly has assisted the capital programs department of a public utility company facilitate construction projects with budgets over $60 Million. Kelly’s focus on projects is to track project progress, review financial budgets, ensure quality is being met, assist with scheduling, and assess safety practices. In Kelly’s free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and pets. We are excited to have Kelly as part of our team!

The East Block Multi-Family Housing Project is going vertical! Gilliland Construction Management is providing project oversight and management for this 195 unit multi-family project in the City Heights neighborhood. The project consists of 117 Low Income Senior Housing units and 78 two and three bedroom Low Income Family housing units. The 5-story structures will include the individual units, multipurpose rooms, community rooms, town square, patios, gardens and a play area. T...he project has been designed by world-renowned Rob Wellington Quigley Architects. Emerson Construction is the general contractor and work is slated to be complete in August 2022. The project includes one level of underground parking. The GC is in the process of pouring the slab on grade for the parking garage with the pours complete by February 1st 2021. The target is slated to have the main level of Podium Deck poured by March 4th 2021. We are very exciting to see this project going vertical! See more

At 27,000sf, this pre-engineered building structure has 3 main use spaces a warehouse space with 126 bays of racking, an 8,200sf machine shop, and a mezzanine for office/administrative area. The 450 B Street Ground floor Amenity Space is under major renovation! The amenity space will be modern, open concept, and will include a new reception lobby with comfortable seating, a brand new state of the art fitness center complete with locker rooms, and modern outdoors seating space to allow opportunities to enjoy sunshine and fresh air for the tenants! The second floor is targeted to start the first quarter of 2021 and will include new state of the art conferencing centers as a building amenity as well. Combined, these two amenity spaces will total 14,744 sf. The project is being constructed by @bycorgeneralcontractors and the Architect is @genslersd

We wanted to share an update as work continues on our high rise project downtown San Diego. A couple of weeks ago, @cwdrivercompanies completed the top out of t...he 6th story building! Always a great milestone! Concrete has been poured on all floors and the exterior skin is being installed. Rough MEP on the interior continues. Our client, a Fortune 1000 company, continues to expand their footprint with the build out of 90,000 sf over 3 floors in the University Town Center area. We have moved into the exciting finishes stage of the project! Drywall, tape and finish work was expedited to accommodate the client’s move-in schedule. Painting is ongoing on all 3 floors, millwork is being installed, new tile work in restrooms and light installation is ongoing. Concrete floor polishing is also underway on the 3rd floor. The project includes open break room areas and large, 20’ ceilings on the 3rd Floor. Gilliland CM has been eagerly awaiting the installation of the CPI Daylighting Panels on our Warehouse project. Being LEED certified, the use of these translucent panels not only helps achieve LEED Daylighting credits but is a great way to achieve some natural light. It’s a swift pace out here and like many projects we’re tasked to meet critical deadlines. Scissor lifts are abundant, and there’s a month to go. Gilliland CM recently completed the buildout of new space and refresh of existing space for a Fortune 500 client in Kirkland, WA. This 3 floor phased project included the management of the design, bidding, permitting, construction and FF&E scopes of work. What began as a multiphase project late in 2019 to accommodate occupied spaces on two of the floors morphed into one giant phase as the client shifted to work from home in March 2020. Working with the client, contractor a...nd vendors to modify procurement plans, on site staffing, and implement COVID 19 safety protocols right away allowed us to still complete the project within the original time frame. The space includes new All Hands conference rooms, game rooms, break rooms, offices, focus rooms, conference rooms, main lobby, and open workstations. Working closely with the design and construction team, Gilliland Construction Management represented the Owner overseeing the construction of a large tenant improvement in the Mission Valley area. The project is approximately 76,000sf in an existing two-story commercial building and was substantially complete on September 17th 2020. The project was a complete remodel of the interior of the building throughout with new electrical and mechanical systems including new HVAC packa...ge units on the roof. The TI included new flooring, ceilings, millwork, lighting and new restrooms on both floors. The main entry and lobby encompasses a double height clear space with mirrored wall paneling, surface mount light fixtures and herringbone patterned LVT flooring throughout. The design accommodates large open office areas at both floors, with some interior private offices, a large break room/lounge area on the first floor and conferencing areas. The project also includes the installation of a new generator for back-up power to the critical IT network infrastructure for the offices. See more

Gilliland CM recently completed a ground up training facility for one of our San Diego clients! This project consisted of 2 buildings, the first a 2,200 sf administrative building used for classroom setting instruction. The second, a 6,200 sf training building where students can put learned knowledge to use and practice their trade. You may be curious as to what the red chutes are you see in the pictures they are welding stations that are supported by a 9,200 cfm dust collector to help ensure the safety of the students and keep the building free of debris. GCM is getting started on a new project located in Downtown San Diego at 450 B Street. The project encompasses the design, demolition, remodel and construction of a new core and shell (6) six-story office building approximately 88,278SF. The foundation and structural framing system have been designed to accommodate the new structure. The scope of the project includes a new curtain wall and exterior glazing, roof, new shell mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, core restroom...s, two (2) new elevators serving levels one through six and exterior balconies. The demolition of the existing building and structural foundation work requires shoring of the existing structure and maintaining access to the parking garage for the adjacent office tower throughout construction. Work at the exterior courtyard shared with the existing office tower includes new trellis structure, fire pits and fireplace, landscaping, planters and benches. Gilliland Construction Management has been retained for construction management services on the re-design of the existing main lobby located at 655 West Broadway. The remodel of the lobby includes light color tiles from Italy, installation of new circular pendant light fixtures throughout, a 20ft. x 12ft. living green wall, installation of a 20ft. x 17ft. video panel wall, a new security kiosk, elevator lobby, Forms and Surfaces backlit glass panels with Arktura metal ceiling... panels and integrated lighting, and replacing the existing floor tile throughout with 2’x4’ large format.
