San Diego GFWC Contemporary Women of North County

CWONC members continue to be busy while distancing and following the CoVid19 guidelines. We continue to make masks for Palomar Medical and Casa de Amparo. We are now up to more than 300 and still sewing. As part of our support for InterFaith in Escondido, our club paid for the supplies and one of our members was able to make and deliver 95 sack lunches. Thank you Gina. We recently had a meet up of a few of our members to gather over $500 worth of food and supplies for So...lutions for Change and members donated more than $110 for them to be able to purchase other items for Solutions. Thank you Sue and John for delivering all the goodies that our members donated. At our meet up, we handed out more fabric and elastic for more masks and fabric to be cut into bears so we can sew, stuff and deliver to Vista Community Clinic while we are still on lock down. VCC distributes our bears to children receiving dental or medical treatment to calm their fears. See more

As with everyone, CWONC is working to save money. As one thing, we are going to move out of our storage unit by the end of April (thanks Jeanne H for offering part of your garage). We have two metal racks that are 3 x 4 and about 6' tall that we will be getting rid of. Anyone looking to organize your garage during our downtime and need some shelving? If so, please message us. CWONCers celebrate "Rosie the Riveter Spirit" by joining forces with many other groups to make masks in an effort to help protect against this COVID 19 war. Great Fun, even if we had to do it in the privacy of our own homes. Donated over 200 to Palomar Medical.
