The EmBrase Foundation is pleased to congratulate the below 2019 Scholarship Recipient. Melany Guzman Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School UC San Diego... As a graduating student of Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School, she will be attending UC San Diego in the fall of 2019. As a young child she often found herself at a loss of words when wanting to express how she felt. But, at a very young age, she found art to be her best instrument of expression. Her passion for art, music, and dance has led her to explore other non-conventional forms of expression within her community, fashion. As Fashion has become a second form of expression for Melany to tell her story. Which she has found takes her on a journey to pursue a career in environmental science to focus on the preservation of our environment. Music and dance gives me the ability to express how I feelthey have taught me how to unapologetically express how I feel in a society that doesn’t always promote self-expression.
