Happy New Year from the Kindred at Home family.
None of the COVID-19 vaccines currently in development in the United States use the live virus that causes COVID-19. You may have symptoms like a fever after you get a vaccine. This is normal and a sign that your immune system is learning how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19. Learn more about the facts behind COVID-19 vaccines: https://www.cdc.gov//vac/about-vaccines/vaccine-myths.html
Your best protection from COVID-19 will be a combination of getting a COVID-19 vaccine, wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet away from others, avoiding crowds, and washing your hands often. No one tool alone is going to stop the pandemic. Learn about the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination so you’ll be ready when a vaccine is recommended: https://www.cdc.gov///about-vaccines/vaccine-benefits.html
Let the light of Kwanzaa bring happiness to your home.

Last month, at the @SoutheasternColoradoAHEC Virtual Nightingale Nurse Recognition Event, our very own Olga Ramirez, from our Pueblo branch, was presented a Luminary Award for her extraordinary work. On her own time, Olga has created a pantry of healthcare, ostomy, wound care, and DME in her home for those in need. She gives unused supplies donated by the community to people without the resources to purchase them. Olga, we are so proud of all you do for the health and wellbeing of your community. And we’re honored that you’re part of the Kindred at Home family. Congratulations!
This National Primary Care Week, take time to express gratitude to the physicians, PAs, nurses, and other primary care professionals who have always taken care of us, and are doing heroes work during this healthcare crisis.
Falls can lead to injuries, decreased mobility, and loss of independence. By taking care of your eyes, you can minimize the risk of falling. Get your vision checked once a year. Make sure your eyeglass prescription is current. Keep your home well lit. And, if you need help adjusting to a loss of vision, talk to a Kindred at Home nurse about what we can do to help. 1.866.CARE.KAH.
Call an old friend. Bake for a neighbor. Volunteer for a cause that's close to your heart. Now's a good time to reach out to others.
