For History Buffs: Our charming Old Victorian house at 450 Marsh Street was built in 1904. AND, from 1960 to 1972 it was the Alpha-Upsilon Fraternity House to 14 Frat brothers, plus another six who lived in an apartment in the parking lot, and a room next door it was home to 20 brothers! Every five years the Fraternity, 600 strong, meet and celebrate! This year it was their 60th reunion and they chose to have their celebration at Gennaro’s Grill & Garden to revisit their... former Frat House, and enjoy some great Italian cuisine and wines. During the evening we asked Mike McCloskey if the rumor was true they buried a car in the parking lot? Mike confirmed that one of the Fraternity brothers crashed his Porsche while under the influence; the car was towed to the house, stripped and buried in the backyard; the incident was witnessed by Mike himself! They were a delightful group, and we hope they enjoyed the evening as much as we enjoyed having them. Message from Mike: Please accept our heartfelt thanks for your hospitality, patience, graciousness and the wonderful and authentic Italian cuisine. It was a glorious evening for myself and my 70+ brothers, wives and guests. Nothing but rave reviews the balance of the weekend. Happy to learn my first room in the house (6ft. We received a fabulous compliment from a charming gentleman who was hosting his daughter's graduation celebration on Saturday evening, and I would like to share it with you. He said in fluent Japanese, and translated "your food is fit for the gods!" I had not met him prior to this very busy evening, but I will never forget him, or his wonderful tribute.
