Why dim sum? I often stopped in my tracks passing a dim sum parlor to watch families and friends move their hands from cart to tablesharing laughs, love, dumplings, and tea. All the different colors and juicy textures of each small dish makes each one look and feel like a wrapped present. The vision is enough to make your heart smile and your mouth water. The hydrating humidity from the steam and smell of bamboo baskets is the warm welcome of a nurturing home meant to invite... everyone. Unfortunately, original dim sum is very meat heavy and hardly suitable for vegans. After years of traveling the streets of Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hong Kong, Tokyo in search of a dim sum experience I could fully enjoy, I realized I would have to do it myself.
