What are some of the most common signs of a hearing loss in a loved one? They say What? all the time. Radio, TV, etc., are getting louder. Struggling to understand others, especially those with accents.... Responses don’t match the questions. They avoid or disengage/disappear from social situations. They are unsure on their feet. Telephone conversations are becoming difficult. Alarms don’t catch their attention. If you are worried that a loved one has difficulties with their hearing, please reach out to us at 916 496-3816. The longer someone lives with an undiagnosed hearing loss the more at risk they are of developing other medical complications such as cognitive decline or depression.

We wanted to share the last winner from our Hear for the Holidays contest. In our Sacramento office, Dr. Charley Sanders fit Kenn Altine in a new pair of premium hearing aids. Kenn was nominated by friends and colleagues at the Sacramento SPCA, where he tirelessly works to help rescue animals find a new home. His previous hearing aids stopped working three years ago and like many others, other things had to take priority.... He says that since being fit with his new hearing aids he is reminded, How precious my hearing is. It’s been the greatest honor and privilege to help each and every one of our wonderful winners to hear their best and stay connected to their world around them.

When you don't wear your hearing aids, your brain can lose out on vital stimulation and cause you to start forgetting certain sounds. It is vital that you wear your hearing aids for at least a few hours every day to prevent symptoms of dementia and to keep your brain sharp. It is so important to exercise your brain and even though it can be uncomfortable, the more you wear your hearing aids, the better your hearing will become! 80% of people diagnosed with tinnitus also have hearing loss. Often described as ringing, buzzing, hissing, and humming sounds in the patient’s head, tinnitus is a symptom associated with hearing loss rather than a cause of it. Call us for more info 916 496-3816
