An Easter Experience Before you watch this video, we encourage you to find a few items if you have not already done so. We ask that you find a small palm frond or branch, a coin, a nail, and a rock. These items will help you engage with our video and help you connect to the reality of the Easter story. Often, we forget these events actually took place. This year since we cannot meet together, it is all the more important to put some extra effort into engaging our senses as we celebrate the Easter story. We hope this video and the accompanying items help you do just that.

This is our last video before Easter! The item you’ll need to find this time is a rock. One that fits in the palm of your hand will be just fine. You don’t want it too big! This item represents Holy Saturday, the solemn day where Jesus laid in the tomb. If you have an Easter card that we mailed to you, place this rock in the circle with the tomb in it. If you didn’t receive a card, place this with all your other items. Make sure you have them all when you tune back in with us Easter Sunday to watch our video! We go live at 10:00am!

This week's Friday Devo series features Kim! Kim's challenge for you today is to take a day of rest. Give yourself grace to be still. She encourages us to spend some time doing nothing. God created rest; He rested! Don't let the culture of hyper-productivity consume you. Her scripture comes from John 6 and is about going to God when you are hungry and thirsty. Listen in!

Easter Prep 3: Nailed It! The third item you'll need to find is a nail! Ask your parents or raid your garage for this one. Just about any old nail will do, just be careful not to prick yourself! Also, make sure you have your tetanus before touching any rusty nails! This item will represent Good Friday Jesus' death on the cross. If you've already received your Holy Week card, place this item in the circle with the cross on it. If you don't have a card, keep it with your palm branch and coin!

Easter Prep 2: Flip For It The second item we’ll need you to find is a coin! Just about any coin will do, but extra points if you can find an old/rare coin that has unfamiliar faces/markings on it! This item will represent Jesus’ betrayal during The Last Supper. If you’ve already received your Easter card, place this item in the circle with a loaf of bread and goblet in it. If you do not have the card yet, keep this with your palm branch!

Easter Prep 1: Branching Out The first item you’ll need to find to engage in our Easter Sunday video is a palm frond (or some sort of branch/leaf)! This item will represent Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. If you’ve already received your Easter card, place this item in the circle with a branch in it. If you do not have the card yet, keep this somewhere safe so you can use it for Easter!

Join us in our effort to keep The Gathering family connectd over the next few weeks! On Wednesday mornings we'll be posting short messages based on the events leading up to Easter. We encourage you to read the Scripture Grant references on your own! Then, spend some time thinking about it and answering Grant's questions, or find ways to have a conversation about it with someone in your small group!

AN IMPORTANT GATHERING UPDATE Hey friends! In an effort to cooperate with directives from SD County, Shadow Mountain will not be hosting services on its campuses on Sundays or during the week until further notice. For our Gathering family, this means we will not meet on Sundays or Wednesdays for at least two weeks. Shadow Mountain WILL be live-streaming services on our website at all normal service times (5pm Saturday, 9am & 10:45am Sunday). We encourage you to tune in and ...continue hosting a time of worship with friends and/or family! Also, we will be going live on Sundays at 12pm with a devotional based on Dr. Jeremiah’s message. Check back with us after your time of worship to stay engaged during this time! Also continue to meet with your small groups off-campus and care for one-another! Christians do not act out of fear. We only seek to live wisely within our community! Until we see you again may the love, grace, and PEACE of God be with you!
