https://youtu.be/KLQoPIx5P08 Our 4Roots Wellness Center has some awesome program offerings this spring: Mindfulness Based Substance Use Treatment is a six-week program that meets twice a week that helps reduce stress, manage cravings, connect with a peer support group and more!... The Mindful Warriors Circle is a peer-led youth support group that creates a safe space to get real and be supported by other youth in skillfully navigating the challenges we all face. For more information about these programs, contact [email protected]
Great coverage of the vital work of our friend and collaborator Dr. Nooshin Razani. Spreading the vital message of the health benefits of time in Nature! Watch, enjoy and share.
Today is your chance to change the lives of youth in our community! In this year of the pandemic, nature-based therapy has become highly valued for being a safe way to connect outdoors, and the need for our frontline safety-net support for youth has increased dramatically. Your Giving Tuesday donation supports our work to offer healing for both traumatized youth and for youth that are simply living in a culture that prioritizes doing over being. You can help them uncover who they really are- strong, resilient and powerful in their own hearts, minds and bodies. Thank you for your support!
Gateway Mountain Center is seeking caring and compassionate adults to support youth navigate these difficult times! With the Recent COVID Purple Tier Designation, most schools are now in full virtual learning, and many students are struggling to find motivation, engage with their schoolwork, and are suffering from disconnection. Many are at risk and are seriously falling behind academically and socially. Many more are suffering with anxiety, apathy, and hopelessness. Gateway ...Mountain Center has a solution! K-12 students are identified and referred into our On Belay: Academic Support program by school staff. We then pair students with a Guide who provides support of mind and body optimizing one’s learning potential. Currently, the number of referrals we are receiving is outpacing our staffing capacity. We need your help! Our Guides meet one-on-one with their students weekly, either in-person or virtually. In-person meetups are socially distanced outdoor activities following strict Covid guidelines from the CDC, the State, and our county partners. Help your student hit the reset button by getting out of the house! If you are interested in learning more and joining the Guiding team please reach out to [email protected]. If you know someone who who would make a great Guide, pass the opportunity along. Pay: $25/hr Time Commitment: 2-4 hrs/week/student Requirements: First-Aid/CPR, ability to pass a background check, Live-Scan Fingerprinting Benefits: Paid training, flexible schedule, sharing your love of the outdoors with at-risk youth, creating a community of like-minded individuals, support and continued education opportunities, and access to outdoor industry pro-deals. For More Information about Gateway Mountain Center: www.sierraexperience.org If you know a youth who would benefit from this program please inquire with your school's staff.
