Tahoe Restaurant Collection is seeking a full-time Assistant Group Sales Manager for Gar Woods Grill & Pier. The ideal candidate will have experience in restaurants/sales/event planning and execution. We are looking for someone with strong administrational skills who is detail-oriented and proficient in Microsoft Office programs, as well as comfortable working in a busy restaurant setting. GROUP SALES RESPONSIBILITIES Promote restaurant group sales events (weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate, social and holiday parties) Contract events, coordinate details, and communicate clearly with clients, wedding and corporate planners, outside vendors, management, chef, and banquet staff Manage parties from set-up to finish, including final billing MUST have ability to work restaurant hours including late nights, weekends and holidays, often in the capacity of banquet operations manager Ability to lead and motivate staff Communicate with clients via email, telephone, and in person in an upbeat, positive manner Process weekly reports, calendars, banquet event orders, deposit payments, food, wine and linen orders Monitor budget and financial goals, and produce accurate banquet tip spreadsheets Manage OpenTable reservations in conjunction with room blocks for private parties Tour guests and potential clients in-house for site visits Multi-task and manage heavy email and phone volume while frequently working on the floor Decorate and maintain equipment lists for holidays and special events STRENGTHS Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Ability to work independently and take initiative Strong leadership/management skills High level of energy Team player Familiar with restaurant and sales/event software Ability to lift and carry trays, wine, etc., stand, sit, walk up and down stairs EXPERIENCE BA/BS in related field preferred Food and Beverage background preferred Event Planning/Administrative work history preferred COMPENSATION Competitive salary (or hourly) base, commission and generous benefit package, based on experience
