I've been practicing law in Los Angeles, serving clients throughout California and beyond, for three decades. I can't believe I'm that old! It's been a fascinating career.... I've helped thousands of people who have all types of problems, criminal and civil, and I've represented large and small businesses and individuals too. ... Most people are very stressed when they call me -- whether they're businesses or individuals, all of them wonder whether they can afford financially to have an attorney help them with their matter. They wonder if they need a lawyer, and of course they always want to know "Do I have a case?" Often, these types of problems absolutely require the assistance of a lawyer. I can only tell you if you have a case after I've had a chance to speak with you, ask you some questions (usually more than just a few) and review the documentation relating to your matter. I prepared this guide in order to help you save money when you go to hire a lawyer. Download it and I promise it will go a long way towards that. here is the link to download the guide: https://roamhowlcreative.lpages.co/how-to-save-money-on-leg And if you have any questions -- you can message me here, or text me at 310-993-9766. Stay well! DID YOU KNOW... I also provide crisis public relations, reputation management and digital storytelling/branding services for businesses and enterprises of all sizes. I can also help you combat the trolls and negative online reviews, the backlash, the fury. ... For those of you playing a big game in the digital world, where you are one disgruntled client review away from infamy, you are never so connected, yet never more alone. These are difficult waters to navigate. Allow me to point the way.

Daniel Perlman is a very successful Los Angeles criminal defense lawyer. We recently won a NASTY domestic violence case for a client. We worked up the case together -- but in completely different ways. We combined those two different ways and really benefitted the client. In this video we share a little bit about that experience.

Re: 5 THINGS BEING A TRIAL LAWYER TAUGHT ME ABOUT BUSINESS I’ve been a lawyer for a long time. I tried so many cases, I lost count. ... I won some, and I lost some. But mostly I won. And when I reflect back on why, there are some big reasons that stand out that I’m going to share with you here. But first let me say this about that. What’s striking to me is that these ideas apply to everything I do in business, not just to my law practice. Better still, they don’t just apply to lawyers. They apply to everyone doing just about everything. They can apply to you, too. In no particular order of importance, here they are: 1. Authenticity is a superpower. 2. Vulnerability is an underrated strength. 3. Plain language is the most powerful. 4. You have to continuously and consistently work on all of you to be the most effective, the most influential, the most persuasive. 5. Leaders are bold, they risk and fail forward, even when they are afraid. Take it or leave it, but either way, I‘d love to hear what you think. Just hit reply and let me know. I’m all ears. XO/j

This weekend I officially, consciously decided something huge. Something that’s a big shift for me. I decided to reconceputualize work. ... From now on, I’m only working doing things that bring me joy, happiness. Only things that excite me. Only things that fuel my vitality. Maybe I’m a bit slow. Maybe you’ve been doing this for years. But it’s a big shift for me. Here’s what it’s going to look like: Even more selectivity with who I work with in both my law practice and consulting business. More joy when I sit down to actually do the thing whatever it is. No more saying yes when I really want to say no. More talking publicly about how I can help in the ways I ENJOY, so that more people know about how I can help them. Since creating my new business, I literally jump out of bed every day. To work. Strange, huh? I never had that before. Almost every day feels like a weekend. Because there’s almost no separation between work and play for me. I love how I’m spending my time. My goal (and maybe it’s a lofty one) is to feel like this All. The. Time. Regardless of the work I’m doing. And to support you in having this experience too. And now that the systems-pages-links are almost completely ready, now that I completed a huge course of study, and a crucible of sorts in one of my businesses (do you follow me on Insta?), I’m taking a deep breath and starting to enjoy everything more. I’m feeling more joy, more passion, more creativity, more flow. I’m leaning into service and connection in a whole new way. From a place of pleasure and ease. This is changing everything. This is feeling really, really good. And I don’t know about you but when something feels really, really good, I just want more. So, what to look for from me: More talk about my new marketing and business consulting services including the M4 Method to Grow your Business, PLUS... I’ll be offering the ability to purchase packages of hours from me for business consulting AND legal advice, letter writing, trouble-shooting, document review, and drafting; You can book me 1:1 for all-day sessions, custom designed around exactly what you need whether its systems, marketing or legal/business issues; And, of course, there’s my signature course M4 Method to Grow Your Business. This is the business and soul expanding program I created to help business owners and professionals like you acquire the 21st Century toolkit you need to create a powerful online presence that will grow and scale a business beyond your wildest imagination. Maybe even to where you can’t tell whether you working or playing, you’re having so much fun. (For more info, see the link in bio.) These shifts will help me get this out into the world in an even BIGGER way. And I’m so excited for that! There ya have it. I’m psyched. Let me know how I can help you.

The news onslaught about the Harvey Weinstein-Charlie Rose-Bill Cosby-Roger Ailes-et cetera-et cetera-ad nauseam sexual assault/sexual harassment scandals may have subsided, but not in my law practice. My phone often rings with people who are defending both civil cases and pending criminal cases involving metoo sexual assault allegations. So naturally, in representing these individuals, I’ve experienced firsthand the often blurry line between a civil and a criminal sexu...Continue reading

Attorney Allyson Kacmarski and I dish on the Paul Manafort trial, the decision by the defense to rest without calling any witnesses, the 5th Amendment, and life in the trenches. Good times!

There are many reasons why clients plead. The biggest most compelling is to avoid the risks of trial - and the government incentivizes people to do this by over-charging cases. The saddest piece of all this is that innocent people can get caught up in a cycle of probation violations and hefty court fees. This article sheds some light on this phenomenon.
