We got a special guest today! Gavin Wake Up Call! We presented him with a check in honor of Phoebe’s Flight, which was named after Phoebe Ferguson, who passed away just a few days after her due date. In their effort to honor Phoebe’s memory and support other parents who have experienced similar tragedies, Phoebe’s parents, Gavin and Stacy, started Phoebe’s Flight to raise money for the charity Phoebe’s Fund. Phoebe’s Flight is an annual 5K walk/run that raises money for Pho...ebe’s Fund, a 501(c)(3) charity benefitting parents who have experienced stillbirth or neonatal loss. Due to Covid19 they had to cancel their 5k run, which we co-sponsored last year as well. Today would’ve been my daughter Phoebe’s 5th birthday. She would’ve started kindergarten. Learning to ride a bike. Loosing her teeth perhaps. We’d be able to start reading books together. She’d have friends. She’d have favorite songs and be able to sing and dance to them. She’d be silly. We thought about this milestone since the day we lost her and how much it would hurt. Now that it’s here, it’s so much more complicated than that. But we love her as much today as we ever did and am so thankful her legacy stays with us and look forward to hold her in our arms again.
