As we celebrate Black History Month, we want to shine some light on the Top Pioneers in African-American Auto History. This week, we're featuring Homer Roberts, the first African American to own a dealership in the 1920s. Before his career in the automotive industry, Roberts studied electrical engineering at Kansas State Agricultural College and then fought in World War I. After serving time in the Army, Roberts became a salesman and shortly after he opened up his own dealership selling many domestic models. Roberts returned to serve in the Army in World War II while working in Public Relations for the Pentagon - thank you for serving our country!
