Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about the importance of nourishing our soul and filling our cup, specifically before attempting to fill others, in order to remain focused on our intentions. For many, the needs of others quickly become our primary focus and we allow our well being to fall to the wayside, not realizing the burnout that lies ahead when we forego self care. This week was a swift reminder of that as I met with two incredible women bringing awareness around we...llness and healing (more on both very soon!). I was reminded that while it’s tempting to focus on others to distract from what’s happening inside us, that feeling will only continue to linger if not nurtured longterm. So let this serve as a reminder that YOU are important. Your well being should be your numberpriority. And if you’re making excuses (like me) to skip the gym, avoid meditating, drink that 4th cup of coffee to give you a midday boost or not allowing yourself to rest when needed, you’re only setting yourself back from hitting that target you have in mind. I promise you, there will ALWAYS be more work to do, more clients to serve, and more tending to friends and family. But if you’re not looking out for you, who is?

Trust me, I GET IT. Stress and anxiety has us on this endless hamster wheel without the tools or knowledge to hop off. And you’re like the majority of the population, you weren’t taught practices to periodically calm and quiet your mind to sustain your busy lifestyle. Until now! Whether you’re tired of being anxious and stressed, a meditation pro or simply curious about quieting your mind for a hot sec, you’re bound to walk away having learned something new from Devon and her years of practice. Gal Collective started years ago as an informal brunch club of sorts, for women new to San Francisco to meet and connect over a shared desire to discover their new home and the community around them. Over the years, this collective has grow to be much more a space for honest conversation, collaboration, support and growth for each and every one of us. For me, I can wholeheartedly say that meeting all of you and our shared experiences have shape the person that I am today. I... feel more myself, confident and vulnerable than ever. And with that, I am absolutely beside myself to announce we are expanding to NEW YORK this fall! Creating community in the most electric city in the world brings me to tears of joy most days.
