October is National estate planning awareness month. The idea of having a month for estate planning awareness is to touch the majority of the general public, financial service and nonprofit professionals and their organizations, with educational and motivating reminders to get and keep their financial, estate, and gift plans in order. It’s beyond important to make sure you have a plan in place and that plan is current and up to date. Estate planning is the most important gift you can provide your loved ones at your death or if incapacitated.
