This update also adds three completely new sections of harmonized variables: Stress, End of Life Planning, and Psychosocial. Further, this update includes small corrections and improvements to existing demographic, health, healthcare, family, and employment variables. How accurate are self-reported diagnoses? New research by the Institute for Fiscal Studies explores how there is a considerable response error. Comparing self-reported health events in ELSA to hospital records shows that more than 50% of respondents diagnosed with a condition in the last 2 years fail to report the condition when surveyed. #ELSA
