Today’s #FxckCancerFriday we remember and celebrate the life of our brother Chiza who taken to soon. Please leave love in the comments below for his family and read his story as told by his sister Laura. To the Stone and Burkett family we know that #NoOneFightsAlone and we are all sending you our strength, love and prayers. Here’s Chad’s journey . On March 18th 2021 at 5:41am my family, as well as the whole world lost one of it's brightest lights. A true warrior won his... battle and was finally ready to rest. My brother Chad Stone (aka Chiza) was diagnosed with cancer on Aug 16th 2004, at the age of 27 with a rare adenoid cystic carcinoma of the head and neck, stage 4. In 2008 we were told the cancer had spread to his spinal fluid and brain stem and he only had 6 months to live. It was with great strength he beat those odds and many more after that as he continued his battle for another 13 years. Through the 17 years of his battle he lived by his words of strength, he would always say "Just cause I have cancer, does not mean that cancer has me!". He lived those years doing the things he loved to do, he traveled, went on tour several times, had his art put in an art show and made many memories with his beloved family and friends. . All the while also going through 2 rounds of chemo and radiation, countless medications and trails, battling endless infections and going through 10 different types of surgeries. Even still he walked around with his infectious smile and laugh, and when he walked into the room, you knew the party had arrived. It's been astounding to see and hear all those he's had a huge impact on. He definitely left his mark on this world and will be missed greatly but never a day will go by that his memory isn't being kept alive. We love you big brother, thank you for being our biggest hero and thank you FC for being there through his whole battle, giving him strength and a voice! Without shedding a tear or breaking her beautiful smile, Leah has undergone 30 days of radiation and just completed her 2nd round of chemo in her battle with stage 3 brain cancer.
