PATRON: Gertrude Stein (1874 1946) After settling in Paris author Gertrude Stein formed a salon where she attracted leading modernists of the time such as Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse. Soon after being introduced to Paul Cézanne and the dealer Ambroise Vollard Gertrude started forming her collection of art. The collection gradually grew as Stein acquired more and more works by painters like Gauguin, Renoir, Picasso, Toulouse-Lautrec, Cézanne and Matisse....
