Fullerton Community Nursery School

FCNS is working hard behind the scenes with current plans to open NOVEMBER 2,, 2020, with just 12 kids in a class (number of classes to be determined by the amount of families willing to enroll). We will not have parents working in the classroom to lessen the amount of exposure. We are planning to add them back as soon as it feels safe. Instead,, two teachers will be in each class. A message from the Director: Hello to you all! I sincerely hope this finds you all well and coping as best you can with our current situations! After receiving results from the school's recent survey, more than half of currently enrolled families do not feel comfortable returning. We completely understand. ... The board met virtually this week and made the decision NOT to open FCNS on August 31. Financially, we would not have enough tuition to meet our expenses. The board will continue to meet monthly. At the October 21st board meeting, we will re-evaluate the situation with the virus and health, safety, and financial concerns, and decide if we can re-open in November, or keep waiting for things to look better. Our eyes will also be on what the school districts in our areas are doing. It is with a heavy heart I say- Stay Well, try to be positive, and we WILL get through this! Love, Sally

FCNS continues to monitor and stay abreast of the Covid situation in the community. We are surveying currently enrolled families about their plans. Sally Newton, director, has been formulating a re-opening plan based on guidelines from Community Care Licensing, OC Health, and CA State. Our board met recently and at a minimum, has decided to postpone our first day of school two weeks in order to give us and our families more time to figure things out. We now await to hear ...from licensing as to if and when we can actually reopen. If you are currently enrolled for this year, you will be receiving emails from the school with more information. Going back to school might not be what you're thinking about now, but FCNS is still accepting students for Fall Registration for 2020-2021 There are openings in all 4 classes. Group I (3 year olds)- Monday, Tuesday Group II (4 year olds) - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... Group III (3 year olds)- Thursday, Friday Group IV (4 year olds) - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Non-refundable registration fees of $80 can be mailed to the school (2050 Youth Way, Fullerton, CA 92835) to secure your spot. You will be sent a registration packet after we receive your check. For more information visit fcns.org, or contact the school at 714-525-1251 and leave a message. Messages are checked regularly. The school start date is scheduled for August until further notice, contingent on directive from official government guidelines. FCNS generally follows the Fullerton School District calendar, and usually starts a week after. Stay safe and healthy!

School update: In line with the Fullerton School District timeline, FCNS will be closed until at least May 11. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE DONATED, and it’s not too late to contribute. We still have a long way to go to cover the full expenses of the 3-year old play structure, the blue track and the 4-year old play structure for install in Su...mmer 2020. With some money in reserve, we were able to order the 3-year old playground structure and it should arrive by year-end and be installed before the kids return from winter break! We’ve scheduled a Demolition Work Day on Saturday December 28, 2019. If anyone is available that day after you’ve cleaned up the holiday setup, and can help with some heavy lifting (we need to dismantle the old play structure, remove cement footings, etc. ) please contact the Maintenance Chairperson, Grace Rungsarangnont at [email protected] or (714) 782-4140. The annual walking field trip to the dentist! Children learned about healthy oral hygeine, sat in exam chairs, and explored the exam room!
