Fullerton College Jazz Festival

We know that you are all screened-out these days, but we’d sure be thrilled for you to join Fullerton College jazz professors Jamie Shew and Jeremy Siskind in a FREE and FUN evening of jazz. We'll be live-streaming from our Campus Theatre THIS FRIDAY, October 2nd, from 7-8pm on the Fullerton College Facebook page. Please help me spread the word! School starts August 24th and I'm READY!!! Let's Do This!! We are online, but that isn't going to slow us down!!! I'm taking this opportunity to explore what I'm calling "What I Wish I Learned In College." You will learn the basics of pop theory, recording techniques, ensemble singing & recording with apps like SoundTrap and A Cappella, arranging, improvisation, technique, songwriting, piano voicings - and how to apply these concepts in your d...aily musical life. We will also feature some special guest interviews/clinics and do a virtual choir piece!!! Come and sing some jazz - lots of opportunities for ensembles and private lessons at Fullerton College. Preparations are underway for this year’s jazz festival! Please join us for an exciting weekend on April 17-18, 2020. Vocal day is the 17th and Instrumental Day is the 18th. We will feature middle school (competes in HS novice category), high school, and collegiate ensemble and solo performances throughout each day as well as an outdoor stage with performances by our incredible Fullerton College jazz groups. We will also be featuring performances and clinics by our esteem...ed faculty, Bruce Babad, Jeremy Siskind, Mike Scott, Matt Johnson, Lyman Medeiros, Jamie Shew, and Chad Willis. As always, we will have world-class adjudicators judging the competitions and providing recorded feedback to all the groups attending. A more detailed clinic and performance schedule will be available in the coming months for all those that want to attend. This is a public event! We hope to see you there! Registration for interested schools begins on October 1st at jazzfestival.fullcoll.edu. There are limited slots available so sign up early!
