Over the next few months, they are getting an up-close introduction of the company's management team. It is with heavy heart that we share with you the loss of Robert Pitt. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, careproviders, friends and FRW staff who worked with Robert for many years. He will be missed by many. Robert was a member of our janitorial crew at Wildwood. "A man died in a traffic collision in Fontana on Oct. 26, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner's Division. At 6:03 a.m., a 911 call was received regarding the incident at the int...ersection of Hemlock Avenue and Slover Avenue in the southern area of the city. A vehicle was traveling northbound on Hemlock and was struck by a semi-truck traveling westbound on Slover. A passenger of the vehicle, Robert Pitt, a 68-year-old Fontana resident, was transported to Kaiser Foundation Hospital Emergency Department in Fontana, where he was pronounced deceased at 6:46 a.m. The Fontana P.D. is investigating the incident." - Fontana Herald News

Fontana Resources at Work has been on a journey for the last 2 years in transitioning our programs to a more community based model rather than a congregate setting. We say journey, because it has taken many of us on a new path, helped us to rethink the needs of our participants, and have faced valleys and peaks along the way. FRW continues on this journey. We continue to learn as we take new steps to deliver our services, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. A whole n...ew method of providing alternative services has been thrust upon us since March of this year. Yet, we continue to march forward in order to meet the needs of the participant and the staff. Our next step in this journey is to make another move. We have sold our building at 8608 Live Oak Avenue. With the closure of our Work Activity Program and the change to a community based service system, we are no longer in need of a warehouse. We have attained office space in downtown Fontana which will put us directly into the city center. We are excited, we are nervous, we are carving our way into the future. Very soon our new address will be 9460 Sierra Avenue, Fontana. We will be in the upstairs west wing. We will also have space for our employees to continue to produce our qualification badges for the Army and Marine Corps. We are excited that we have a crew of 7 participants who are now regular employees of FRW earning a competitive wage. They will begin working at our new location on November 2nd. We thank you all for your patience, understanding and support as we walk together to provide quality services that meet the individual needs of our participants. This opportunity will help us to not only better support our participants in their community, but will also allow us to assist our staff to be even better at their jobs through training and community access. Stay tuned as our journey continues! We do it for you!
