2020 has been a tumultuous year, so it has taken longer than expected to compile this report. We thank you for you interest and support and hope to return to in-person events before too long.

A fun puzzle for craniacs missing them during their summer hiatus.

Nina Faust of Kachemak Crane Watch sent us a charming video of 2 and 3 day old colts in Homer, Alaska. By the time they get back to our area you won't recognize them! Thank you, Nina! https://youtu.be/WNZuycnnICY

We are sad to announce that the US Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) has canceled the 2020 Nature Bowl Semi-Finals which were scheduled for April 30, 2020 at Blue Heron Trails, Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. This is due to recommendations that all group activities be canceled until after mid-May because of CORVID 19. Fish and Wildlife is working on an alternative event for a later date. FWS and the Friends want to encourage the teams who had signed up for Nature Bowl and ...any other kids who love Nature to use this time for nature walks and hikes, reading about their favorite animals and using online resources like https://pbskids.org/ and https://kids.nationalgeographic.com/ to keep learning. There are some fun games on the CSERC website at https://www.cserc.org/kids-games-activit/kids-nature-games/ We will keep you informed on this website of any future updates and plans. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay excited about Nature!
