Family fun in the park!

https://scvhistory.com/scvhistory/hb2101.htm Brownie Playday patch, William S. Hart Ranch (Hart Park), May 20, 1967. Diameter 3 inches; brown lettering on white fabric. Brownie Playday was an annual event for the youngest members of the Girl Scouts of the USA organization. Patch donated 2021 to the SCV Historical Society by Sue Wright of Vancouver, Wash. Her late father (d.2013), Larry Wright, was a longtime resident of Reseda, Calif., and had many friends in the Santa Clarita Valley. An avid auto racing enthusiast, he moved his family to Reseda in the 1950s and was a member (and master judge) of the National Corvette Restorers Society.

The 2nd annual "Newhallywood" Silent Film Festival is online and on Valentine's Day weekend, Friday Feb. 12-14! And some of the Friends of Hart Park got to be involved this year! Wouldn't you and your sweetheart really like to celebrate Valentine's Day by watching and learning about silent movies together? My wife doesn't know it yet, but that's what WE'RE doing! http://santaclaritaarts.com/newhallywood/

For many years, we have wanted to complete redo the duck pen area. Welldrum roll, please October marked the start of the Waterfowl Habitat renovation project! The project is estimated to take around 6 months, from beginning to end. There will be many facets to this project, including: tearing out the old/antiquated pond, removing all old/antiquated electrical and plumbing systems, installing new plumbing/drains/electrical, installing a new and improved and larger pond (...complete with waterfall and a filter system), painting, some landscaping, and an aviary top. We are most excited about the aviary cover because it will allow the waterfowl birds to be able to safely enjoy the pond 24 hours a day, instead of having to be locked up in the house at night because of potential predators. As the Park Animal Keeper, my #1 item on my wish list for years has been to get this area improved and updated. Here are some pictures of the area before the renovation began and a few during the process thus far. Stay tuned for updates on the progress and, eventually, the final product! See more
