Our neighborhood association, the East Sacramento Improvement Association usually has their community meetings at the Clunie Center - but due to COVID-19 they are meeting virtually. This year they are hosting a forum on the Strong Mayor Initiative which is on the upcoming election ballot. Here’s some information from ESIA on the Forum. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30: ESIA FORUM ON MEASURE A Hear about the Strong Mayor Initiative next week! ESIA is proud to sponsor a forum on the St...rong Mayor initiative (Measure A) on Wednesday, September 30 from 7-8 pm. Our speakers will be Chet Hewitt, Co-Founder of Build.Black. speaking on behalf of the Yes on Measure A campaign, and Vice-Mayor Jeff Harris (District 3) speaking in opposition to Measure A. Attendees will be able to ask questions of both speakers. ESIA will moderate the discussion. Measure A - Sacramento Mayoral Accountability and Community Equity Act of 2020 would revise the city’s current council-manager form of government to a mayor-council form. The Measure also provides for a minimum of $40 million for inclusive economic development and youth services. You can find more information and arguments for and against at cityofsacramento.org/Clerk/Elections/3-Measure-Information All ESIA members and East Sacramento residents are invited! Please invite your friends and neighbors to join us. Log-in information will be available after September 23 on the ESIA website eastsacimprovement.org
