With 2021 only being a week away, don't we all wonder what the new year will bring? Our hope is that the lovely BACS resident dogs, Homer, Sean Connery, Ringo, Buddy Love, Makita, and Judy are all going to find a forever home. In the meantime, our gratitude goes out to our dedicated team of foster parents and dog walker volunteers for providing love.

Lost kitty courtesy post - please share! Berkeley's mayor’s kitty Che has been missing for a couple of days. He was last seen around Cedar and Henry Street in Berkeley. Che is very friendly, he is an indoor/outdoor cat and will respond when someone calls his name. If you see him, please contact Nara (tagged in the first comment). ... Let's hope that Che will be back home safely in no time. See more

Happy Howl-o-ween from all of us at the FoBACS family! We can't wait to do one of these adorable pet parades again next year. In the meantime, can we see some of your pets in their best Howl-o-ween costumes?

Somewhat shy, but wholly gentle and sweet, Kiki is about as gorgeous as they come. The healthy 12-year-old adores a good head scritch and her musical taste is second to none, as evidenced by her homage to Songs from the Big Chair. Interested in meeting Kiki? Shout at [email protected] to get the process started. Before you know it, something happens and you're head over heels ...

Did you know that we are just wrapping up National Vet Tech Week? Let's take a moment to celebrate and thank our amazing veterinary technicians! We want to call out our very own Jane. It's impossible to imagine BACS without her and we just love her dedication to helping animals in need for many years. We can't imagine BACS without her.

Hi there, my name is Benji! I was originally found in Yolo county. I am about 9 years old, and my two favorite things are cuddles and sleeping. I love to get snuggly with my humans and enjoy playing tug of war from time to time. I spend most of my time napping but once in a while, I get up to check on my humans and give them some love just because. I enjoy going on walks and also enjoy lounging around a backyard or patio when I have access to one. When my foster parents of...fered me a home, I was recovering from several wounds and stitches for the first four weeks, and I felt shy and vulnerable. It's been about 10 weeks now and all my stitches are fully healed, my fur is shiny, my hair has grown back and I can jog and go up and down the stairs with confidence. My calluses, which I have on my bottom and elbows, are fast going away now with the comfy bed I have; I'm hoping to never again lay on concrete all day. I confess that I love my foster parents' couch when I get their approval to take my naps and cuddles there, and sometimes I also join couch meetings when my presence is requested. Woof Woof I love going outside on walks and to smell new things (I have quite a developed sense of smell) and will work for treats. I do feel anxious and stressed when I see other dogs. I wasn't always like this, but I was recently attacked by a dog and I now feel on edge when I see my fellow four-legged friends. Did I mention I'm 74 lbs now? I lost a couple of pounds and I feel fantastic because I'm more active and more mentally engaged than I was before I do look forward to meeting you. Expect some wet licks and maybe hugs as well.

Look who I met at the shelter today! Can you imagine that just a few days ago this little guy was scared and did not trust humans? The best experience as a volunteer is when a shy or scared animal turns a corner. Patience and kindness make the biggest difference. #shelterlove #sheltercat #tuxedo #purring
