Interesting migration study of Natomas, Sacramento, Swainson's Hawk nesters. "The wide range of wintering areas used by Swainson’s Hawks that bred within 30 km of each other in the Natomas Basin region of the CV is the most striking outcome of the study." 20 individuals were tracked to western Mexico, Central America, Northern So America and as far south as Santa Cruz Bolivia and Salta Argentina. https://bioone.org//Wintering-Areas/10.3356/JRR-18-49.full

They are out there - reported by Frances Oliver on Central Valley bird forum yesterday [We] were birding around bobelaine in Sutter when we drove by a field filled with Swainson's Hawks. We counted 102 sitting in a rice field next to the 99. I don't know what they might be doing there, mixed dark and light morphs. . . . They were seen at this coordinates: 38.863, -121.552
