Friends of Cardiff and Carlsbad State Beaches (FCCSB)

https://www.parks.ca.gov/NewsRelease/948 #CAStateParks today announced it is temporarily closing the following state beaches and state parks within the San Diego Coast District: Torrey Pines State Beach, Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, Carlsbad State Beach, South Carlsbad State Beach, Cardiff State Beach, San Elijo State Beach, & Silver Strand State Beach,. All trails, the beach, all parking areas and restroom facilities are closed to the public. All beach activities including cycling, surfing, swimming, fishing, or pedestrian access will not be permitted during this time. State Park Peace Officers will be enforcing the closure to help flatten the curve to prevent the spread of #coronavirus (#COVID19).

If you are going to be near San Elijo SB within the next few months, be aware of construction on Chesterfield Drive and expect delays. Build NCC Project Update...: @SANDAGregion and @CaltransDistrict11 #BuildNCC crews are set to begin sidewalk improvement work on Monday, December 10, on the Chesterfield Drive rail crossing between Coast Highway 101 and San Elijo Avenue in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. Partial lane closures along the right southbound turn lane from San Elijo Avenue to Chesterfield Drive, the right westbound lane on Chesterfield Drive, and the right northbound turn lane from Chesterfield Drive to Coast Highway 101, are required as part of this work. Motorists will still be able to travel eastbound and westbound on Chesterfield Drive during the temporary lane closure. Bicycle and pedestrian access to the coast and nearby Cardiff-by-the-Sea businesses will also be maintained.
