In 2018, Kinesiology alumni, Tom and Shirley Aney, established a $25K endowment in Kinesiology to support student scholarships. It was their love and pride for the University, where they were once both student-athletes, that drove their desire to give back. Mr. Aney, who was the last surviving Fresno State quarterback from the late 1940's, passed away last Thursday, Feb. 18. His legacy lives on through the Tom and Shirley Aney Kinesiology Scholarship, which is open now to students studying physical education. In addition, there are a variety of scholarships now available to all Kinesiology students. To learn more, visit bit.ly/scholarships-fs and search 'Kinesiology'. Scholarships close March 2nd.

Since March, she has championed nearly 21,000 students and educators to maintain healthy, active lives despite the current challenges and her efforts recently helped Madera Unified achieve distinction as one of America’s Healthiest Schools. Twenty years ago, Michele Pacheco b...egan her physical education career at Fresno Unified School District and has gone on to educate and coach thousands of students over the years.
