On this day 41 years ago, Fresno Police Officer Lanny Skip Stevenson was shot and killed during an off-duty altercation in which he was engaged in law enforcement duties. He was 25 years old at the time of his death. Thank you for your sacrifice Officer Stevenson. Your service to the residents of Fresno will live on. Credit: Clovis Floral & CAFE
Once per year, nearly 400 Fresno Police Officers choose where to sign up for the next year's shift. Although this year's event was full of hand sanitizer and social distancing, we are very thankful to Tali Whelan of FLAG (Front Line Appreciation Group) and Jacob Cantu of Dutch Bros Coffee Fresno for providing pre-packaged meals and coffee for these brave men and women!
ATTENTION FPOA President, Todd Fraizer, will be appearing on the Trevor Carey Show, PowerTalk FM 96.7, today at 3 pm. Subject matter: Fresno's spike in crime, Zero bail policies, Staffing.
Support our #MountainStrong volunteer First Responders and neighbors.
A letter to the American public: It's time for the American public to decide what we want from law enforcement. Warriors? Counselors? Guardians? Priests? Social workers? Magicians? Do we want the cheapest cops possible? Or, do we want well-trained and well-screened cops who are equipped with every tool needed for every possible eventuality?...Continue reading
As PORAC we support voting YES on Prop 20. Proposition 20 fixes this by making assault with a deadly weapon and 21 other violent crimes violent under the law ... to prevent the early release of violent inmates. #YesOn20 #Prop20 #KeepCalSafe Keep California Safe Click Here: https://bit.ly/2STp7GP See more

The Fresno Unified School District (FUSD)Trustees recently postponed their vote to renew the contract for the School Neighborhood Resource Officer (SNRO) positions in their middle schools. The officers who work in these specialized positions do so because of their love for kids and desire to make a difference in their lives. Unfortunately, the majority of FUSD Trustees bowed to the current political climate from a few vocal defund police agitators, and it is the kids who w...ill ultimately pay the price. The following story was posted yesterday by one of those affected school officers who will not be returning to her school, because politics and not common sense is dictating FUSD policy. Bring sensible leadership back to FUSD, vote for common sense Trustees who truly care about your children and not for those who play politics with their lives! *The original post has been edited to clarify that the Trustee’s had elected to postpone their vote on this issue until after the November election. The FPOA apologizes for this error. However, it is incumbent upon those who reside in the FUSD to contact their Trustee’s to demand that officers are placed back into the middle schools. https://www.facebook.com/1027175772/posts/10219862301721095/
Help us, help them. The innocent who have paid the price in the current epidemic of violence. These innocents are the consequences of voters who vote for politicians who are soft on crime and advocate the defunding of police. Your vote is important, so vote wisely and for those who truly believe the role of government is to provide for the safety of its citizens.
An unbelievable month of violent crime not seen in decades. Our criminal justice system has been broken and the soft on criminal, demonize police social experiment needs to end. The human toll being left in its wake is proof it doesn’t work.
Today, we pay tribute to Fresno Police Officer Lucius Smith, who in 1907 lost his life while serving the citizens of Fresno. Your sacrifice will always be remembered.
This was a long time in the making.
Thank you council member Bredefeld, the men and women of the FPOA couldn’t agree more!
On this day in 1946, Fresno Police Motor Officer Elmer Forsman died from injuries he received on October 6, 1946, in a collision between his motorcycle and passenger car. The accident occurred at the corner Blackstone and Thomas avenues while Officer Forsman was engaged in traffic enforcement duties. Officer Forsman paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service to this community and citizens. The men and women of the Fresno Police Officers Association will never allow your sacrifice to be forgotten.
