Helmet cam footage from an Engine 5 Firefighter shows a garage fire crews battled yesterday. On arrival, your #fresnofirefighters found one garage and a vehicle involved with fire and neighboring exposures being threatened. Quick action by E5 Midtown Muscle made short work of the fire and saved the adjacent properties. 3 days into the month and FFD has responded to 75 fires. 25 fires a day puts us on pace to have 775 fires this month. That is not a record we want to s...et. With temperatures expected to soar, we anticipate being even busier very soon. #fresnofire #servefresno

Helmet cam from a firefighter off of Engine 5 shows a short clip of fire in the attic of an apartment fire that went to 3 alarms yesterday. Apartments often have a common attic and fire travels quickly and can be difficult to locate and contain. This video highlights how your #fresnofirefighters work quickly to enter these structures and open the ceiling to find the fire and stop the progress. #fresnofire #servefresno

April closed out with 676 fires, an all time record for one month. It shows no sign of slowing down with 31 fires being recorded on the first day of May. Helmet cam from an Engine 5 Firefighter shows the intense flames encountered last night while battling a 2-alarm fire that had multiple cars burning under a carport threatening neighboring structures. Your #fresnofirefighters were able to make a quick, aggressive attack and stopped the progress of the fire, saving the ad...jacent property. The footage can never convey the intense radiant heat firefighters face when battling these blazes. No one was seriously injured from the fire but one person was evaluated on scene and released. Cause of the fire is under investigation. #fresnofire #servefresno

Fresno Fire responded to a commercial fire in a structure just after 0330 this morning. On arrival, crews found heavy fire through the roof at a building that is the site of previous fires. Protecting neighboring homes and structures is always one of the highest priorities during firefighting operations. Firefighters from Engine 4 quickly evacuated an occupied residence adjacent to the fire and began setting up to protect that home. Helmet cam from an Engine 4 firefighter ...caught the moment that some kind of explosion rocked the building of origin. The explosion knocked several firefighters to the ground and a Mayday call was issued. All affected personnel were evaluated on scene and thankfully no one required further medical care. A Mayday means one of our own is hurt or trapped or in immediate danger and no firefighter ever wants to hear that word during an incident. The video is a great example of a firefighter staying disciplined during a Mayday call and completing the task assigned. Maintaining the hose line on that home saved that family from being displaced by fire. This fire happened 4 hours after crews had battled another large fire that resulted in a tragic fatality off of E. Sierra. Your #fresnofirefighters have fought 653 fires in April, a record for a one month period. Again, we are very happy that none of our brave firefighters were hurt badly and we are already working on a thorough After Action Report to identify all the lessons we can learn from this incident. #fresnofire #servefresno
