Amidst the blooming flowers and budding trees, we re-open today with a sense of measured optimism. We are grateful to have the opportunity to bring our team members back to their jobs while also supporting our extended network of farmers and suppliers. And we are grateful for our loyal guests, for the opportunity to serve them and help make lasting memories. Though we will be operating with reduced capacity and in an environment that is even more challenging than last fall, w...e recognize that we are fortunate; many of our colleagues cannot and may never reopen. The Restaurants Act will hopefully offer some relief, but our profession is in crisis. We look forward to seeing you! February 9th: We honor the past today and celebrate the original anniversary of The French Laundry. It was forty-three years ago that Sally and Don Schmitt opened their doors for a dinner-only prix fixe menu featuring food they liked to cook for their friends. A single seating by word-of-mouth and cash only, with a focus on Napa Valley wines. Sally cooked from the 13x20 foot kitchen, and Don welcomed guests and helped run service. They anchor our evolution. Thank you. Illustration by artist Larry Gipe. #TFL43

After thirteen weeks of a temporary closure, we are going about reopening The French Laundry in the same way that has guided us since opening our doors 42 years ago: with keen attention to detail, warmth and hospitality, and with the goal of making happy memories for our guests. . These are different times and guest and employee health and safety are our top priority. As we reopen and collectively respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in a safe and welcoming manner, we are abidi...ng by local and federal guidelines including the reconfiguration of our dining rooms and outdoor garden spaces to accommodate social distancing. . We are now offering reservations for July 2020. Beginning July 8, dinner service will be available five nights per week; Tuesday through Saturday 5:00pm through 8:45pm. . We will be releasing one month only and assessing the changes and developments as we move through these unprecedented times. Please note, our office and phone lines will open on July 6th. FEED IT FORWARD. "Never in the course of the past 26 years since opening The French Laundry and our sister restaurants and bakeries, did any of us think we would find ourselves in the state we are in. It’s been devastating to close our doors across the country and say goodbye to our daily routine and the camaraderie we experience with our teams and guests. A great meal is not just about the food and wine. It’s an opportunity to make emotional connections. Over the years, our ...staff has been dedicated to creating lasting memories for countless guests from our neighborhoods and around the world. They take pride in that effort, which lies at the essence of everything we do. But now my teams, comprising 1,200 employees, can no longer perform their roles. Furloughed across the country in New York, Florida, Nevada and California, they face the prospect of dire financial hardships. In response to these trying times, we have launched the KELLER RESTAURANT RELIEF FUND, a not-for-profit charitable organization aimed at helping employees who are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We need your help! Donations to this 501(c)(3) Fund will be tax deductible upon the final approval from the Internal Revenue Service, and will go toward grants that will cover the cost of housing, medical, child and adult care, and other basic necessities. With the temporary closure of our restaurants, I have heard from many of you expressing your care and concern and asking how you can help. I invite you, if you are able, to consider a contribution to help your favorite server, the bartender who knows your mood, the chef who sends an extra course, the porter who is integral to everything we do, or the management and administrative teams who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Be well, stay safe and take care of your family, friends, neighbors, and community; this is still at the forefront of what our teams do, and they need you more than ever. DONATE at https://www.thomaskeller.com/donate Thank you for your support. We are so grateful." - Chef Thomas Keller

In adherence with the Napa County Shelter-At-Home mandate, we will be closing until further notice. We are heartbroken and know this temporary closure is for the safety of our community. . The hospitality profession is one of care and nurturing. Behind the blue door, our team has welcomed guests from around the world for more than 25 years, and we look forward to doing the same when we can safely return to service. . We have a vital stitch in the social fabric of Yountville, ...providing well-paying jobs, supporting our purveyors and creating a happy gathering place. The French Laundry has always been much bigger than one person as we have drawn on the contributions of so many people. We are proud of that and will remain so during these uncertain times. . Please stay safe. Take care of your family and loved ones and continue to check back for updates. Thank you to our local community and guests for your loyal support since we opened our doors. We are all in this together. See more
