Today @flotus Jill Biden was in Window Rock, Arizona and @amberkanazbahcrotty Navajo Nation Council Delegate gave her a #navajoquiltproject tote and a quilt made by an elder. Although Amber could have given her a Pendleton Blanket- she chose to give her something made with love. On this Earth Day, let’s remember to recycle our extra fabric and scraps and send to our quilting sisters in the Navajo Nation. We interrupt this feed with the news that @sofzabala iconic art - @natgeo published - was illuminated on the facade of @gracecathedral tonight. As someone who lived in SF for a couple of years back in the eighties, I consider this a great accomplishment!

Today would be a great day to clean out your fabric stash or extra sewing supplies and send to the Navajo Nation. Although many of the senior centers are not open - we still have our favorite Navajo quilters on the reservation who keep the fabric moving and the women quilting.
