Free Hand Farm

Tulip calved this week and for being such a small pregnant cow, she gave us a big surprise. Twins! Two girls. So far the names are Thing 1 and Thing 2, but they'll get something better soon. Close to identical, but one has a tiny patch of white on the end of her tail.

Athena and Diana have joined the crew! Well, kind of. They will need some time to grow before they are out guarding sheep. For their first task they are "guarding" the bottle babies and a couple ewes in our yard. Puppy collars and first vet visits are next for the resume. . .

Butterfly, that pesky former bottle baby, gave us twins instead of her normal single, but one twin is incredibly tiny. They both seem healthy otherwise. Last night's twins turned out to be triplets, and this morning one of them seems unwell. He's hanging out in the kitchen getting looked over and doctored.

First two lambs on the ground for the season. But it was dark and they are black, so no pics yet!
