Fred’s Salads are so fresh! Harvested at sunrise with our @farmersfriendllc Greens Harvester, triple washed, spun dry, packaged and cooled to 39 degrees in our #coolbot refrigerator and loaded into Priuses for delivery! The Fresh stuff was just loaded into @saladatm with fresh eggs for $5 a dozen from @ebenhaezereggs we just picked up in Ramona from a bunch of happy chickens roaming around a big field with an huge Anatolian Sheppard dog that guards his flock with his life and is a coyote’s nightmare. Sunday morning harvest continues to be a symphony of hustle at Fred’s Urban Farm. Early morning harvesting ensures crisp #Microgreens that are triple washed and spun dry before being packaged and refrigerated. Orders are sorted and Priuses are dispatched for contactless deliveries. Trays are washed and dried, coconut coir is soaked and spread, seeds are thrown and coffee is savored between tasks. Eggs are gathered, the @saladatm gets stocked and everyone walks pas...t the weeds that still need to be pulled. The new garden gets watered, the plants in the greenhouse get fertilized, the chickens get new bedding and their food tubes get filled. We take inventory of supplies and try to plan for the week ahead. We talk about essays that need to be written for classes that our kids don’t go to anymore. Sometimes we get cinnamon rolls on Sunday’s, we always have a huge Microgreen salad with a early dinner ... we used to be able to invite friends.
