Suspects Apprehended During Early Morning Crime In Progress. In the early morning hours of Wednesday, 12/9/2020, at about 0109 hours, Fowler PD officers came across a crime in progress. Officers discovered two Hispanic male adults in the process of taking a wood chipper from the city yard located at 7th and Main Street. The suspects were in the process of attaching the chipper to a Red Dodge Pickup when they were discovered. The suspects were later identified as 29 year old M...ario Gomez and 36 year old Roberto Nunez Alanzo both of Fresno. Both suspect were arrested and charged with commercial burglary, grand theft, possession of burglary tools, possession of narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia and have been booked into the Fresno County Jail. Gomez was found to have an active warrant for grand theft. Both suspects have prior arrests for similar charges in the past. See more

The Fowler Police Department needs your help. On Tuesday 10/27/2020 at about 2AM two suspects went into the AM/PM located at Manning Avenue and Vineyard Place and robbed the clerk at gunpoint before fleeing the scene in a White over Silver Suzuki Grand Vitara. No one was injured during the robbery. Police from Kingsburg as well as Fowler are actively looking for the suspects who may be linked to other robberies in the Fresno County area. On Wednesday 10/28/2020 at about 1:30 AM officers stopped a vehicle for a mechanical violation on Golden State and near Manning Avenue. Officers checked the vehicle and the three passengers inside. Upon checking the subjects, a stolen firearm was found inside the vehicle. All three subjects were arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on various felony firearm charges as well as outstanding warrants. Zepeda 20, had just been released 10 days earlier on related gun charges, while Ramos 20 was arrested for outstanding warrants for related gun charges.

Today Mayor Cardenas as well as members from the Fowler City Council with the assistance of Fowler Police Department Explorers, handed out personal protective equipment to families in the Fowler area for protection against Covid 19. Items were donated from companies like Old Navy, Western Dental, Bank of America. They were also part of a county program facilitated by The Insure America Project who partnered with the Central California Latino Mayors And Elected Officials Board. The PPE give away is going on until 5pm today.

The Fowler Police Department would like to thank the officers who gave up some of their personal time to assist the Fresno County Sheriff's Department in the area of the 2020 Creek Fire. Officer's assisted the Sheriff's office by patrolling burnt out areas and keeping away looters from homes. They also escorted home owners back to their properties and walked foot patrols. Officers came from other outside agencies such as the Selma Police Department, Parlier, Kingsburg, Kerman..., Clovis, Reedley, Sanger, Probation; just to name a few. Officers were greeted with warm welcomes as were the many other fire agencies throughout California and neighboring states. The scene was very hard to take in however the people who were there were very strong and determined to get back to what they had left and ready to rebuild. Thank you to everyone who donated time money and the effort to help those who needed it during the fire. Thank you to all the many agencies and people who helped to put out the fire, feed the workers, set up logistics and bring power back to the area. As they said throughout the Creek Fire area ... Hello Everyone! A few of you may have seen my partner's walking a beat downtown during the lunch time hours. Well you're not mistaken. The men are issuing citations to those people who are making illegal U-turns in a business district. Remember you doing so is illegal, unsafe and causes congestion. Please stay off those cell phones and watch for pedestrians. Thank you.

Watching good things happen in the City of Fowler. Thank you Vineyard Worship Center, Pastor Rod Haro and all those who helped to deliver food to those in need during the Covid pandemic including candidate for city council, Juan Mejia. During this give away each family received a box of food from the organization, Farmers to Families, and a copy of a signed letter from President Donald Trump. Each box was packed with essential items such as eggs, chicken, milk, butter and more. Food is available while supplies last. We would also like to extend our thanks to everyone who is providing food and supplies to those in need during this difficult time. The citizens of Fowler appreciate all your efforts.
