A Message from Lori Abbot: Hi all, We have returned from (Tahoe) Sectionals in 4th place! Not bad with 16 teams competing. As Ryan noted even a step further, there were 118 teams in the Northern California division and we placed 4th, not bad, not bad at all! I wanted to say thank you to the following players: Mike... Marielle Cindy Ryan Lori Edgar Darlene Yen Ylisa Chris I applaud your tennis, your sportsmanship, your ability to be flexible and available. Even if you played or you did not, you were ready, willing and able to make the committment and the expense to get to Tahoe. That means the world to me, I could count on you in a pinch, you changed schedules if need be and you were there to cheer and support. We had all kinds of weather, we had all types of delays, and in the end, we did pretty damn good! You played great tennis, won so many matches and made me so proud to call you friend. I had never been a captain at sectionals before and I learned alot. Thank you all for being my teachers. In the end, we made so many fond memories, cheers to you!! I also want to thank each and every player who played this season. You made it possible for us to represent FG in Lake Tahoe. I will remember THIS team as a whole, one that has tenacity and heart, and who gave it their all on the courts in every way. You had had fun doing it, with smiles and integrity. I don’t think there any other teams as polite as the players at FG. There is no better feeling as captain. Thank you for allowing me to lead you. I am not perfect, I can make mistakes, but you seemed willing to put your faith in me. I hope that this season was as fun for you as it was for me. And lastly, thank you Mike Gallagher, for being the ying" to my yang" (remember that team? LOL). I couldn’t have made it through the season without your calm deameanor, your wisdom and advice. I always have felt that we did this season together, and the accolade of making it to 4th place is a shared experience. I could not have done it without you. Thank you friend. In the end, I just want to thank you once again, I so appreciate each of you. FG Rocks! Lori

Thanks to all the volunteers who came out Friday and Saturday to help at courts 2 & 3. We laid down the base rock, next will be a layer of clean gravel on top. Check out the zombie walk video of us stamping down the base material.

When the courts are wet try playing on the Clay. We did on Tuesday and the Clay was in great shape.

Great fun last night at the Fountaingrove tennis community annual crab feed and awards dinner. Players of the year went to Wendy Tigner and Bob Gould. Volunteers of the year went to Theresa Martinez and some guy named Terry (total surprise on that one).
