The blood drive is scheduled for Wednesday March 10 at the community center. The blood bank has indicated a great need for donations due to Covid so this is you...r chance to make a difference, pay it forward and give back! If you are unable to donate, you can still help. We are having an amazing bake sale and some cool new t-shirts for sale with the proceeds going to the Isbell family. I will post a link to the sign up sheet in the comments. As the time slots fill, more will be added. Walk ins are always welcome. We will be rounding up community members to help in the next few weeks so please post if you are interested or PM myself or Maria Dice Gamache. This is going to be a day you won't want to miss. Serving our Community: Each year, our Lions club delivers free firewood to those in emergent need of heat. This wood is donated by locals and cut, split, and delivered by club members. This year alone we have delivered over 40 loads of wood to those in need, from Kelsey Creek area to Callahan. ... (Photo from a prior year.)

Thanks to everyone who donated yesterday! We collected 162lbs of non-perishable goods and 82 dollars to help provide perishable goods for those in need. If you would still like to contribute, contact less pickup is still available through the remainder of February. Call or text: (831) 239-6336... Salvation Army would like to remind the community that some of the needs include: nuts, olive oil/cooking oil, non refrigerated protein drinks, and baby formula.

The 2020 Fort Jones Christmas Parade is on! Mark your calendars now for December 4 at 6 p.m. for the Tree Lighting in the middle of town. Carols will be sung and proper social distancing and masks rules will be followed. Fireman's Breakfast on December 12 from 7 to 11 will be drive through/take out. Same delicious breakfast, still served (delivered) by the Firemen and all for a good cause!... Parade starts at 1 p.m. and parade entry forms can be obtained at Mechanics Bank. Once again, we will be outside, following social distancing rules and masks are a good thing (they help keep your face warm!). The Holiday Craft Faire is also scheduled for that day, location is tentatively in the Denny Bar/Police parking lot, but not cemented in as of this writing. Any questions? Looking to help the fire victims in Happy Camp? The Fort Jones Lions Club will be collecting Gift Cards, Non-perishable food items and/or cash this Saturday, September 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rec. No clothes or furniture will be accepted. All gift cards, food and cash will be delivered to Happy Camp.

FALL FESTIVAL IS HAPPENING! October 3, 2020 at the Fort Jones Ball Field, gates open at 9 a.m. Classic Car Show, Hit and Miss Tractors, FREE games for the kids, community booths, vendors, raffle prizes and food. Wear a mask, be safe and we will see you there!

Fort Jones Lions Club Clean Up Day was a success! Thank you to all who worked and participated in this event.

Clean Up Day 2020 is happening! When: July 18 8 a.m. to Noon Where: The "old bowling alley" now known as the "Towers". What: Bring your old tires, appliances, furniture, scrap metal and electronics to dump. COST: Tires: $5 (truck tires $10) limit 6 per person.... Appliances $10 except Refrigerators and freezers are $30 doors and freon must be removed or will not be accepted. Furniture: Commercial $25, residential $15 Mattresses, box springs free (limit 2 per person) Electronics FREE NO PAINT, No OIL and ABSOLUTELY No household garbage will be accepted. Face Masks are Mandatory! If you are not wearing a mask, you cannot participate. See more
