REMINDER: DAV will be in-person this month on Wednesday 28 APR starting at 0700 The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Representatives will be in-person to meet with Soldiers regarding VA Disability Claims. The DAV are the individuals who assist with preparing your disability claim to be filed with the VA. Reminders about claims below: 1. You must have your medical records with you in order to meet with DAV (printed or on a disc). If you have not yet requested your records,... you must do that first at the 3rd floor of Weed Hospital. They take 30-45 days to get back. 2. You will be seen on a walk-in, first come first served basis. Recommend you arrive early. 3. You can meet with DAV at any point in your transition process, but you CANNOT file your claim until you are at least 6 months from separation/retirement. 4. If you do not need/want DAV assistance with preparing the claim documents, you can contact the VSO in Hesperia directly to file your claim. They are seeing people on an appointment basis in-office only, there is no date yet when they will return to Irwin to assist in-person. Their number is on flier below. 5.
