Now broadcasting on iHeartRadio, Love Your Body Love Your Life radio show was one of the most enjoyable interviews and conversations I’ve had after the release ...of my new book, Wave Goodbye to Type 2 Diabetes. What made it so fun was answering off-the-cuff questions from listener submissions. Host, Jenna Lobos @jennalobos, popped out question after question from her engaging listeners in a popcorn-style-get-to-the-point format. Jenna appropriately named this segment Wild Blood Sugar Swings & Type 2 Diabetes. Below are a handful of topics and questions we covered: My personal story reversing type 2 diabetes Why diabetes came back after my first reversal A few of my unique lifestyle practices Shifting our lives to meet the needs of our self-care practices Walking for health and blood sugar balance How much time to give a practice or program before moving on Coffee: Bulletproof, toxicity, and clean sourcing Quantities of food to eat in the morning, midday, and evening I hope you enjoy our lively conversation. I look forward to your feedback and questions. Tune in here to listen: http://DrNickiSteinberger.com/loveyourbodyradio Peaceful healing, friends.

Hi everyone -- long time, no post, I know. But I'm just popping in to recommend that if you're in the market for a blender, a juicer, or a book about juicing, you can find it here. Happy nutrition! Tracy Hernandez

It's been a while since I reminded everyone of the importance of #chia seeds for everyone, and especially for #diabetics.

An extremely popular question among my peers, clients, and friends is whether it's better to juice or blend. I see it as a non-issue because they each serve a unique purpose and both are valuable. If you're paying attention to your blood sugar due to pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes, you need to test your glucose level 2 hours after consumption. Remember, these are pre-digested foods, by way of the juicer or blender. That's a straight shot to your cells of potentially high-nutrient density, but also carbohydrates (sugar). How do you live a "medicinal" life? I'll be honest, with the level of stress, toxicity, and pressure to succeed, it can be challenging for most of us. I do know that you must have a plan, know where to begin, and have support. Healing and recovery are not solo journeys. I have reversed type 2 diabetes twice; it is a lifetime adventure. If you need one-on-one support, a holistic plan of action, and a place to start, contact me asap. Peaceful healing, friends.

I am often asked, or rather... "told," by clients, friends, and peers, that focusing on healthy nutrition isn't possible when stress is overwhelming. I get it, and that's why I teach nutrition and stress integration. This intersection is a critical area many teachers miss. Ironically, foods that are the best match for you holistically (body, mind, spirit), will act as stress-reducers. The win happens with daily practices. You must have a plan. Starting today through Monday evening, catch my weekend special, "Give ME the Healing Now: A Wellness Reality Check." DrNickiSteinberger.com/workwithme/. Peaceful healing, friends.

A quick review of these tasty grain-free tortillas: I am "anti-diet" focused, however, because I manage insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes for myself and my clients, it's critical to know how our bodies (and moods) respond to various processed flours, even grain and gluten-free. Cassava is a starchy, root vegetable; it is actually a resistant starch which is healthier for the gut and in reducing inflammation. Experimenting is key for blood sugar control and addiction alert. My blood sugar has been higher since eating these, but I have also been consuming more fruit. So... I will eliminate these tortillas first, and assess from there. Hopefully I can work them back in because they are delicious and versatile. Peaceful healing, friends.

I grew up on Mott's apple juice; apple juice from concentrate. That sugar load and quality of nutrients was remarkably different than consuming whole, organic fresh apples. Apples are loaded with antioxidants, fiber, and viramin C. They are medicinal for the cardiovascular and digestive systems. They even carry a low glycemic index and load. Green light yes, but take notice, due to agriculture, apples have become much more sugary than they used to be. If you are managing metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, or type 2 diabetes, you'll need to find your dose to monitor the carbohydrate intake. A whole apple at one time might be too much. Drinking the juice (even freshly juiced) can spike your blood sugar, and throw you into a tizzy. Keep it whole; keep it real. Peaceful healing, friends.
