California Diving News Publishers Dale and Kim Sheckler were great publishers. Dale was honest he did not like the orginial Force fin for diving. I quickly understood when I met him. Talk about a red wood tree. A giant of a Man. So I knew he would be happy diving in the Extra Force Fin. His Review from over 25 years ago. I found my pair of smoke black Tan Delta, bungee strap and a snap like no other. Plan to sell my pair to help raise money for https://chessevans.com/

Cleaning out a warehouse of Force Fin History. Personally it is very amazing to see how many molds I made and all the different fin designs. It's been over seven years since I worked in my work shop at 715 Kimbal Street, Santa Barbara, California. Force fin is growing, but it is time to share American Force Fin History. Enjoy https://forcefin.com/product/collectible-mold-164/

Molds are generally cut out of a big block of steel. At the time we started Force Fin, each mold had around a $40,000 price tag. In today’s dollars that is the equivalent of around $120,000. Bob Evans hand shaped master tooling, with blades propotional to foot for sizes xs, small, medium, medium large, large, extra large, 2-X Large. Over the years we made more than 30 models of Force Fins. To launch with a size run just for the Original and Pro Model Force Fins we were were l...ooking at a cost of more than $750,000 current dollars, with that investment capital tied up for around 18 months. That’s a pretty high capital expense for a fin company. Never one to cower at a challenge, Bob Evans decided to find a solution. He applied techniques he learned from his artist/sculpter father and growing up as a member of Hermosa Beach California surfing community to develop fiberglass epoxy (later filled with aluminum) tooling and molds. Each mold came in with a cost of around $3,000, and Force Fin was up and running successfully! Over the year, Bob Evans and his crew made 100’s of molds, that together produced millions of Force Fins.https://forcefin.com/product/collectible-force_fin_mold/

It's been over 28 years since Jimmy Gray passed on. We worked side by side for over 10 years with Force Fins. Hard to imagine he is gone, I learned so much about shaping and fiberglass tooling. Jimmy was laying up Kirby Morgan Diving hats and brought years of surf board shaping to the table....I also learned from our Artist Father Gordon B. Evans.https://forcefin.com/usa-made/

New Speaking of Venting, Robert Flores and I wore these mask to protect us from fiberglass particles and vapor fumes from nasty Epoxy systems. We had a great filtered vent system, but still be be safe. The mask I see people wearing for Virus protection looks nice, but not sure it does the job like the mask we used. I wore this mask for over 30 years, almost 7 days a week, with a long 10 hours day. Once we started to make a mold it was not a matter of minutes, other than timing with the epoxy pot life. Feft like a Doctor gloved up and working quickly with layer upon layer of thin fiberglass. I made hundreds and hundreds of these molds. Will be selling top half of mold for collectors like our friend Dr. Phil Nuytten

As I was saying we are more popular in Europe than here in America. Today we shipped a nice order to friends in Finland. But I will never forget Jen Hilbert setting a worlds record in Force Fins. Our Distributor in Germany Thomas Kleemann and his wife Doris broke all records when it came to distribution. So many trips to the Boot Shows. Found some prints Jens sent to me in 1998. Enjoy watching him set the record. 98,508 views......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWPy_heBugI

I think Force Fin was accepted overseas right off the bat. They did not have the FAKE US DIVE PRESS tearing down who we were. In Europe they have laws about false reviews and understand diving needs due to harsh conditions. We still ship more over seas than here in America. Kind of intersting to say the least. https://forcefin.com/usa-made/
