This beautiful kitten was found hungry and crying tied to a fence at the corner of Kohler and Auburn Blvd. He was wearing a red collar and is extremely sweet and friendly. Happy National Black Dog Day! Founded in 2012, National Black Dog Day (also known as World Black Dog Day) is celebrated annually on October 1st, and is a special day devoted to highlighting the plight of black dogs in shelters & ending the stigma about their color. Our model is Milo, a shelter rescue from Miami, Florida. He had been a victim of "black dog syndrome" and was the shelter's longest resident at the time. Through social media, he found his forever home with Amelia, one of our amazing staff members, and hopped on a plane to Sacramento! We'd love to hear your rescue stories and see photos of how you are spoiling your friends today! Thank you!
