Every Saturday we serve over 250 families facing hardships. Due to COVID19 we practice contactless distribution, where food is pre-packed and loaded into car trunks during drive through. The new building foundation is inspected and approved. Next, we have to wait on concrete. Apparently with Gov. Newsome's quarantine orders, all concrete powder entering the port has to sit there for two weeks. Then State, County and City projects get priority :-( The food bank has been waiting for concrete, but was informed that we are scheduled for a December 1st concrete pour. Hopefully the building erection will begin December 7 and by Christmas we should have the shell of a building completed. Over the Christmas holidays and into January, we hope to have volunteers working inside on the cooler, lights, plugs, etc. Let me know if you can help us!

FoodHelp volunteers strive to help people instead of focusing on politics. As in the past, we acknowledge our elected officials help, support or donations to the food bank. These and similar boxes of food have been coming from the federal government, USDA and President Trump for several months now. We were recently informed that we may get food boxes for another few months along with a FEMA grant to help offset other expenses. Thank You, President Trump! It is so wonderful that federal dollars are not only helping farmers, but working their way down to our local level and especially, when they are doing so much good to people who are in need!

The Nourishing Neighbors program of the Albertsons Companies Foundation has generously made another donation to the FoodHelp Food Bank this year in the middle of this Coronavirus Pandemic! As our Neighbors continue coming to the food bank at a rate of 2-300% of last year, we are confident that there will be plenty of food for everyone.
