Hello Elkdom, It is with our deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of Past Exalted Ruler Ron Emery. Ron passed away yesterday. His cancer had come back a few months ago.... The Emery family will have no services. Ron served as Exalted Ruler at Rancho Cucamonga Elks Lodge #2570 in 1985-86 and also as Exalted Ruler at Fontana-Rialto Elks #2013 in 2007-08 and 2016-17. IT'S EASY AS 1, 2, 3....

Good Afternoon to All, Last night during our lodge meeting, we discussed to have our next two Friday night dinners Drive-Thru style. All you need to do drive your car around to the back of the lodge by the kitchen door, and your food will be delivered directly to your vehicle. RESERVATIONS are a MUST! Call 909.823.0649 or, reply to this email now, because only 35 dinners will be... prepared and when they are sold out, they are gone. Beer & Sodas will also be available for purchase. We will have some available seating on the back patio for any members if you wish to eat on the patio after you have picked up your dinner. This limited seating will remain open if social distancing guidelines and other safety precautions are maintained. We know it is going to be warm, so we are installing a set of water misters to cool off the patio area a few degrees. As a reminder, this Friday, July 10th, we will be having Chili Rellenos, Rice & Beans for $10 and the following Friday, July 17th, we will be serving 14 Chicken, Mashed Potatoes & Veggies. Both Friday Night Dinners will be $10. Do not forget that it is RSVP ONLY. MEMBER APPRECIATION BBQ & PICNIC THIS SATURDAY, JULY 11th Fontana-Rialto Elk Lodge 2013 is having our annual membership appreciation BBQ & Picnic. This year we are having BBQ chicken, hamburgers, and hot dogs. It is free for all Fontana-Rialto Elk members (please have your current membership card to show), all others will be charged $5.00. We will have games to play (if you have a favorite game, bring it also) and the patio bar will be open for service including Bucket of Beers special. The fun starts at 11am, the cooks will be serving up the meats from 12pm to 2pm. RSVP and please bring a side-dish to share. Notice to All Members: The 156th Grand Lodge Convention Is Canceled Every year, we look forward to connecting with our fellow Members at the National Convention, but given the continued concerns about COVID19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 156th Grand Lodge Session in Baltimore, Maryland, which was scheduled to be held from July 5 to July 8, 2020.... Following increased and overwhelming concerns about the coronavirus and COVID-19, we felt this was the best way to proceed during such an unprecedented global situation. We are very disappointed that we are unable to hold the National Convention for our Members, but we know it is the right decision based on the information we have today. This was a tough call to make. The Grand Lodge Sessions are incredibly important to the Order because they are where we elect and install the Grand Lodge Officers and vote on legislation and budgets for the ensuing year, but we need to prioritize the health and safety of our Members, our employees, and everyone who helps at the Grand Lodge Sessions. The Convention Commission is exploring other ways and means of completing the tasks that need to be accomplished during a Session and is also investigating the possibility of live streaming the Session on the Elks.org website. Please check Elks.org for updates. We remain committed to the city of Baltimore, Maryland, where we are now planning to hold the 2028 convention. The dates and details will be worked out with the city and the hotels in the months to come. In the meantime, thanks for your patience and understandingâand unless a new convention plan is developed for this yearâs Session, we look forward to seeing you all in Tampa, Florida, for next yearâs Grand Lodge Session which will be held from July 4 to July 7, 2021! To My Fellow Elks, Due to the ongoing CORNVID-19 virus pandemic, I feel it is in the best interest in the health of our members that I temporarily close the lodge starting on March 20. We will address this issue at the end of the month but will not be open until April 3 at the earliest. The measures that we were trying to implement, such as social distancing and using plastic cup for all drinks, did not appear to be heeded. Since our regular social practices do not meet th...e increasingly strict standards that federal, state and local governments want us to take in reducing the spread of the virus; we must take extreme measures to insure the safety, health and wellbeing of all our members. My actions are from the advice of our District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler and medical professional recommendations that I need to make this decision. Even though I don’t believe our lodge is at risk of exposure, I still must act in what I think is best for all our members in trying to prevent the spread of this virus within our lodge and communities. Sharon Tulledge, the wife and First Lady of Harold Tulledge for 41 years, went to be with the Lord on Sunday night, March 1, 2020. (Harold Tulledge is a PER from Yucaipa Elks Lodge.) There will be a Celebration of Life at the Yucaipa Elks Lodge #2389 on Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 11 am to 2 pm. Please keep Harold and the family in your prayers.
