FLC Admission & Records Evaluator/Degree Auditor Rochelle Franco donated her first unit of blood at a campus blood drive in 2003. On October 31, 2020 she reached an awe-inspiring milestone - a total of 30 gallons of lifesaving blood donated! Rochelle shares, "Because campus blood drives have been canceled, it is so important to go into your local Vitalant or American Red Cross and donate blood. Especially as we head into cold and flu season, and now that surgeries have resumed, the need for blood components is high. Please consider rolling up your sleeve and making a difference in our region."

Students are now able to select a preferred email to receive all official college and district communications! Things to know: Students can change their preferred email at any time via Canvas (for preferred email within Canvas only) and eServices (for preferred email for all other Los Rios systems). Note: Because Canvas relies on Los Rios Gmail for the Google Apps integration to work properly, for now, the changes must be made separately in both eServices and Canvas. Rosters will now indicate which email a student prefers so that faculty always have the most current correct information available when attempting to contact a student. All students still have access to Los Rios Gmail if they prefer or need a .edu email account.

If you are feeling anxious or stressed, you are not alone! Election season can be a stressful time. Here are some tips to help manage election season stress. Take a break from the news and from social media. Information overload is a thing! Make an effort to switch off your screen periodically and try turning off notification to content that may be triggering. Take care of your body. Drink water, eat well-balanced meals, take deep breaths. Aside from staying safe, stay h...ealthy. Take time to unwind. Use a few minutes of your day to do something you enjoy. Connect with others. Talk to people you trust about your concerns and how you're feeling. Check the online calendar for events where you can feel connected and supported. Ask for help. Los Rios has partnered with Timely MD to provide free online medical and mental health care for students. www.flctelehealth.com
