Last week we began an office project making a list of our last 50 business lawsuits and trials. We realized that we've defended quite a few that were downright ridiculous, which we plan on sharing. Anyone have a story about a frivolous lawsuit?

A few years back I received a handwritten letter from a young girl named Kimberly Pok. Kimberly grew up in a small town near Oxnard and had recently graduated from high school. She reported that her grades were pretty good, that she swam on the school swim team, and that she had some lifeguard training. But Kim also shared her dream of one day coming to San Diego and becoming a lawyer that could speak for people wrongfully accused. That rang a bell with me. I once had a simil...ar dream about becoming the voice for others. I invited Kim to San Diego for an interview and immediately gave her a job. Kimberly was fantastic on our team. Working hard...asking smart questions... learning more and more each day. For years I watched as Kim worked at the office during the day and pushed herself through USD night school. First she earned her BA. Then she completed the Certified Paralegal Program. Kimberly eventually left our firm to continue her studies. It seems we lost touch these past couple of years. Today I opened my mail and found a handwritten thank you note. It was from Kimberly. Enclosed was a published law review article she had written, along with an invitation. You see, Kimberly Pok graduates with the Thomas Jefferson School of Law class of 2020. I’m pretty sure Kimberly will become a fantastic attorney, and a real asset to our San Diego legal community.
