*farm kid content warning* Sharing from Cody Tiny Farmer is a strong independent toddler that don’t need no Dada to carry his grain buckets. This Horned Dorset ewe was a bummer lamb who at 3 is now real aggressive when it comes to getting a snack. These are two things that clearly won’t mix well and thus naturally must. The ewe of course saw the bucket, rushed over and sent TF sprawling all akimbo before devouring said grain. TF pulls himself together, stands up, glares at t...he ewe, turns to me, points back at the ewe and states in the most annoyed little voice ever That F’ing sheep! A few takeaways from this: 1) Honestly I’ve never felt more seen! 2) I know you shouldn’t laugh but sometimes it’s really hard! 3) Bravo TF on your grasp of context! 4) We had a talk about words we shouldn’t say. 5) He will no longer be allowed in the milk barn while Dada is dealing with first calf heifers .

Tiny Farmers favorite foods are lemons and cake. As his Bubbe loves him she bakes him lemon cakes, AND because she does love him so the other day she boxed up a quarter of the cake for him to take along for ‘pasture snack’. It turns out that our livestock guardian dog is also a fan of cake and Tiny Farmer is very good at sharing. We’ll let you work out how all this is connected

We have wet sheep. I repeat, WE HAVE WET SHEEP! It’s been so dry this year we had begun to worry we may need to start irrigation early. While a half inch of rain certainly hasn’t gotten us out of the wood and we’re still well below annual average. It is a pleasant change, the dust is settled and the grass will benefit. Let’s keep those fingers crossed for more in the forecast. The farm operates at the whim of nature and unfortunately she is an unpredictable mistress
